No range mode in Omaha: JJ+, AQs+ shorthand describes two-card hands, and a four-card hand has 270,725 combinations with no agreed notation — so this tool runs hand against hand in PLO rather than pretend otherwise.

How Omaha equity differs from Hold’em
In Hold’em you are dealt two cards and you may use either, both or neither. In Omaha you are dealt four (five in 5-card PLO) and the freedom disappears: you must use exactly two of them, and exactly three of the five board cards. Not at most two. Not the best five of nine. Exactly two and exactly three, every time, with Hold’em’s hand rankings otherwise unchanged.
That single rule changes the arithmetic underneath an Omaha calculator completely. A Hold’em hand on a finished board has one answer to work out. An Omaha hand has sixty: six ways to pick two cards from four, times ten ways to pick three from five. The engine behind this page works out all sixty and keeps the best. In 5-card PLO it is a hundred.
Sixty times the work per player per runout is why a preflop Omaha answer takes a moment while a Hold’em one is instant, and it is also why you cannot do this in your head the way experienced Hold’em players eyeball a flip. There are more hands to consider, each hand has more ways to improve, and almost nobody is ever drawing dead.
The exactly-two rule, and the trap it sets
Here is the hand that catches everyone, and it is worth typing into the calculator above to watch it happen. You hold Ah Ks Qd Jc. The board runs out 2h 3h 4h 5h 9s.
A Hold’em player looks at that and sees two monsters. Four hearts on the board and the ace of hearts in hand is the nut flush. Better still, the board has 2-3-4-5 and you hold an ace, so that is the wheel — in Hold’em those seven cards make Ah 2h 3h 4h 5h, a steel-wheel straight flush.
In Omaha you have high card ace.
Ah must also contain a second hole card, and your other three are the Ks, Qd and Jc — none of them a heart. So the most hearts you can ever assemble is four: your ace plus three from the board. No flush. The wheel fails for the mirror-image reason: A-2-3-4-5 needs the 2, 3, 4 and 5, which is four board cards, and you are allowed exactly three. Your best legal five cards are the two best in your hand and the three best on the board: A K 9 5 4. High card.Swap one card and it flips back. Hold Ah Kh Qd Jc on a board of 2h 7h 9h 4s 3c and now you have two hearts and the board has three, so Ah Kh plus 9h 7h 2h is a legal and very real nut flush. Two hearts in hand and three on the board is the only shape that works. That is the whole trick, and it is the first thing anyone moving across from Hold’em has to stop getting wrong.
The same logic kills a second illusion: a straight or a flush sitting on the board on its own can never be played as it stands. If the board is 5h 6h 7h 8h 9h and you hold Ac Ad Kc Kd, you do not have a straight flush and neither does anyone else without two hearts — your best hand is a pair of aces. These are the cases this page’s engine is tested against directly, because they are exactly where a Hold’em evaluator pointed at four hole cards gives a confidently wrong answer.
Why Omaha equities run closer together
The headline number in Hold’em is that aces beat seven-deuce about 88% to 12%. In Omaha nothing is that lopsided. The best starting hand in the game, double-suited aces and kings, is only about 71% to 29% against one of the worst four-card holdings you could be dealt. Preflop all-ins between two reasonable hands usually land between 55/45 and 62/38.
The reason is that four cards make six two-card combinations, so everybody has six Hold’em hands at once and almost everybody connects with almost every flop. A hand that would be unplayable junk in Hold’em still has two or three ways to make a straight and a suit to chase. Equity gets shared out rather than concentrated.
This has a practical consequence that matters more than the trivia. In Hold’em, getting your aces in preflop is most of the battle. In Omaha, a preflop edge of six or seven points is a good one, and the real money is made after the flop where equities swing violently — which is why the flop and turn numbers from this calculator are worth more study time than the preflop ones.

Two things to take from that bottom row. A hand with no pair, no suit and no connection still collects a third of the pot against a random holding — which is why folding is so much less profitable preflop in Omaha than in Hold’em, and why position and postflop skill carry the game.
When it counts every board and when it samples
There are two honest ways to answer an equity question and this 5 card Omaha calculator uses both, telling you underneath the result which one you got.
Exact counting deals every possible remaining board in turn. Run it twice and you get the same answer to as many decimals as you like. On the river there is one board. On the turn there are 32 to 44 depending on how many players are in. On the flop, between 406 and 946. All of those are counted in full, so from the flop onwards this tool is exact and the number will not drift.
Sampling takes over preflop, where the count explodes: two four-card hands leave 1,086,008 possible boards, and each of those boards needs sixty evaluations per player. Counting all of them four-handed is over a quarter of a billion hand evaluations — several seconds of a frozen phone for an answer a 150,000-runout sample pins down to about a fifth of a point. The threshold sits at 100,000 boards, which happens to split the streets cleanly: the widest flop is 946 boards and the narrowest preflop is 201,376, so every postflop spot counts and every preflop spot samples.
One worked example, because it makes the point about postflop swings better than any table. Put AsAhKsKh — the best hand in Omaha — against JcTc9d8d on a flop of 9h 8s 2c. The aces were a 61/39 favourite before the flop. After it, enumerating all 820 boards exactly, they have 32.44%. The rundown has flopped two pair with a straight draw, and the best starting hand in the game is a two-to-one underdog. That is Omaha.

What is a PLO equity calculator?
It is an Omaha odds calculator: you give it two to four Omaha hands and any board from preflop to the river, and it deals out every remaining runout — or a very large random sample of them — and counts how often each hand wins, loses and splits. The result, your equity, is the share of the pot each hand would win on average if the hand were played to the river with no more betting. Is this Omaha calculator free?
Yes. No account, no download, no daily limit. There is no server doing the calculation, so there is nothing to charge for and nothing to log. It works on a phone as well as a laptop.
Does it handle 5-card PLO?
Yes. Tap the 5-card button next to the game switch and each player gets a fifth hole card. The rule is unchanged — exactly two hole cards and exactly three board cards — so a five-card hand is scored over C(5,2) x C(5,3) = 100 possible five-card hands rather than 60. Five-card hands run a few points closer together than four-card hands for exactly the reason four-card hands run closer than Hold’em: more cards means more ways for everyone to connect.
Why is my Omaha equity different from another calculator?
Almost always one of two harmless reasons. Preflop answers here are a random sample of 150,000 runouts, so they move by a fraction of a point between tools and between runs; the margin is printed next to every sampled figure. From the flop on, every possible runout is counted, so the answer is exact and two correct calculators must agree to the decimal. If you see a gap of several points on a flop, one of the two is almost certainly applying Hold’em rules to four cards.
Can I run a hand against a range in Omaha?
Not here, and not honestly anywhere with the notation people are used to. Hold’em shorthand like JJ+ or AQs+ describes two-card hands; there are 270,725 distinct four-card Omaha hands and no agreed way to write a subset of them down. Is it legal to use an equity calculator?
Away from the table, yes — this is study software, the same as a textbook. Using any calculator while a real-money hand is in progress breaks the terms of every major site and most live cardrooms. Run your hands after the session, not during it.
